Description: Full Circle Design FZLLC is excited to offer an intermediate 3D SketchUp course. Building on the skills learnt from SketchUp 1, this course will provide you with the skills to make an entire home and bespoke furniture from scratch. 3D warehouse is a great tool but cannot provide everything, such as bespoke built in units, and custom kitchens. In SketchUp 2 you will be working on a living, dining, kitchen open plan room, with lots of built-in areas. You will be making custom furniture pieces, tackling stairs, custom built-in units and making a full kitchen design. This course is particularly useful for students that want to enhance their Residential Interior Design levels 2 & 3 final project work. The course will run over 4 weeks, with each module building upon the previous in order that, by the end of the course, you will have a thorough understanding of the program and its capabilities, through complete hands-on training.





 


Lesson 1:

• Importing AutoCAD plans in 3D SketchUp
• Making carcass, stairs and built- ins.
• Making ceiling and flooring designs.
• Adding windows and doors.

Lesson 2:
• Making kitchen designs from plan
• Extruding kitchen design and adding countertops
• Adding appliances
• Adding custom shelving

Lesson 3:
• Importing images of furniture.
• Tracing furniture and using tools to join pieces together.
• Adding interior design soft touches to space
• Making TV unit and cut out designs.
• Adding accessories to TV and kitchen shelving

Lesson 4:
• Adding colour to the 3D
• Adding camera angles and walk through camera.
• Changing the style of the final image
• Exporting shots

Entry requirements:

Students registering for this course must have completed at least ‘3D Interior Designs using SketchUp – Level 1’ and AutoCAD level 1 with Full Circle Design, OR have equivalent qualifications. Architects and Interior Designers who need to update their skills are very welcome to join.

Equipment/Materials Needed: Laptop with Google SketchUp Pro or Make program downloaded, charger, wheel mouse and USB memory stick. Google SketchUp Make is a free download. Images required for the course (that will be provided by Full Circle Design FZLLC) must be downloaded onto a memory stick or laptop prior to the course. Students must have proficient working knowledge of their laptop (PC or Mac) and be able to navigate it without supervision.

Certificate: If students successfully complete the final course project/course activities/ homework, they will receive a ‘Letter of Completion’ Certificate which is a useful starting point into a new career of Interior Design or Decoration. The final project work will be graded by the tutor and one other assessor. This grade goes towards assessing their final grade for the Diploma or Higher Diploma. For students that are ‘borderline’ between grades, the course activities and homework will be a deciding factor. If a student misses more than one lesson, he/she is required to repeat the whole course at the original fee paid if he/she wishes to obtain the ‘Letter of Completion’ Certificate.If a student does not pass the course, he/she has the option of repeating the course again (current course fee will be applied) or the student can obtain private tuition (details of duration/fees will be discussed/agreed with the individual).

Diploma: If students successfully complete 6 or more courses with Full Circle Design FZLLC, they will receive a graded Diploma from Full Circle Design FZLLC. The Diploma displays the British Interior Design Institute (BIID) and the Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID) logos which are internationally recognised. Students must demonstrate competency in residential/commercial/ professional design and Computer Aided Design (CAD).   3. All payments are 100% advance and non-refundable. However, if a course is cancelled, there will be a full refund.
  4. The fee payment can be made by one of the following methods:
    • Cash or cheque(payable to 'full Circle Design FZLLC') to a nominated staff member (prior appointment necessary).

  5. A minimum of 4 students is required to run a course/workshop or it will be cancelled.
  6. It is not possible to transfer the fees to another course/workshop or dates unless a course/workshop has been cancelled.
  7. Students must present/submit their final project in the last lesson.
  8. If students miss more than one lesson, they must repeat the course at the original rate paid, to receive the ‘Letter of Completion’ Certificate to proceed to the next course.
  9. If students miss one lesson, it cannot be repeated at a later stage.
